ATLANTA, GA - Governor Sonny Perdue announced today the following appointment to the Georgia Regional Transportation Authority Board:
Kessel D. Stelling, Jr., 48, Marietta, GA - Stelling is the Chairman and CEO of Riverside Bancshares, Inc. and Riverside Bank and has been in the banking industry for thirty years. He is the immediate Past Chairman of the Regional Business Coalition and serves on the board of the Georgia Bankers Association. Stelling is the Vice Chair of the Cobb Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Development Authority Board of Cobb County, and a Cumberland Community Improvement District Board Member. He is a Kennesaw State University Trustee, a Cobb Community Foundation Board Member, and a member of the Georgian Club Board. Stelling was the 2002 Campaign Chairman for the United Way of Cobb County, serves on the WellStar Health System Board, and is the former President of the YMCA of Cobb County. He was named the Cobb County 2003 Citizen of the Year by the Marietta Daily Journal . Kessel is a graduate of University of Georgia and he received a graduate degree from The Graduate School of Banking of the South at Louisiana State University. He and his wife, Carol, have two children.
