Governor Perdue to Join International Business Delegation for Sumaq Summit 2004

May 5-7 business conference includes Atlanta Mayor, Federal Reserve Bank COO, and Spain's former Minister of Foreign Affairs
Atlanta - Governor Sonny Perdue announced today that Atlanta Mayor Shirley Franklin, Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta COO Patrick K. Barron, and Spain's former Minister of Foreign Affairs Ana Palacio will join him and senior executives from Atlanta-based and international companies including CNN en Español, Coca-Cola, Delta, Equifax, Siemens Mobile, Sony Pictures Entertainment, Southern Company, Telefónica Latin America, and UPS on May 5-7 for Sumaq Summit 2004: International Business Strategies in Latin America.
Presented by the Sumaq Alliance of international business schools, the executive conference also welcomes government representatives from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, and Mexico and will focus on the latest management techniques, critical business issues, and strategies for investing and operating in Latin America. Panels comprised of businesspeople, politicians, academics, and the media will focus on the U.S. Hispanic Market; Financial Services Transformation; Free Trade Area of the Americas (FTAA); Corporate Governance, Corporate Entrepreneurship and Corporate Social Responsibility.
"There are many complex and pressing issues facing today's global economy, and we look forward to discussing and debating them within this unique forum," said Angel Cabrera, a Georgia Tech graduate and Dean of Instituto de Empresa (IE), the founding school of Sumaq. "In view of Atlanta's growing importance as a gateway to Latin American markets, it was a natural place to hold Sumaq Summit 2004, and we appreciate the invitation from Governor Sonny Perdue."
