ATLANTA - Governor Sonny Perdue issued the following statement today regarding unanimous Senate passage of his Child Protection Package (Senate Bill 467):
"One of the hallmarks of this session should be child protection legislation becoming law in the State of Georgia . The time is now to help protect our children from drug addicts, kidnappers, and reckless caregivers. I deeply appreciate the Senate's unanimous passage of this important bill. The House Judiciary Committee should take immediate action on this legislation and move it to the floor for swift passage. Let's put our children first and remove the shame of being the only state in the nation without a strong child protection law."
