Tanenblatt to Continue G8 Summit Leadership

Atlanta - Governor Sonny Perdue announced today that Eric Tanenblatt will continue to serve as the State Coordinator for the G8 Economic Summit being held in Sea Island, GA, June 8-10, 2004. Tanenblatt, who is stepping down as the Governor's Chief of Staff at the end of the year, will continue to chair the G8 State Working Group and serve as the state's designated liaison to federal and local officials on matters related to the G8 Summit. "Eric's strong relationship with the federal G8 planning organization, the White House, and the G8 Summit Host Committee is critical to the success of the G8 Summit," said Governor Sonny Perdue. "I am pleased that he has agreed to continue to serve and help spearhead this effort for the State of Georgia."
The G8 Summit will bring thousands of government officials, diplomats, and journalists to coastal Georgia and generate more than $250 million for the state economy.
