Atlanta - Governor Sonny Perdue today met with the commanders of Georgia's 13 military installations at the Governor's mansion to discuss issues important to Georgia's military installations and base communities.

"My commitment as Governor is to be sure that the State of Georgia does everything in our power to support men and women in uniform and the base commanders who lead them," said Governor Sonny Perdue. "Georgia has a strong military tradition and the military forces within this state stand ready to defend our nation."

The purpose of the meeting with Governor Perdue was to provide an opportunity for the state's military commanders to build a stronger relationship with Governor Perdue and state leaders. The meeting also served as an open forum to share base concerns and needs and how the state could best address them. Installation and education issues were also discussed during the meeting.
