Asensio Appointed Chair of Latino Commission

Atlanta - Governor Sonny Perdue announced today the appointment of Charles M. Asensio as chair of the Latino Commission for a New Georgia (Commission).

"I am looking forward to working with Charles Asensio and the entire Latino Commission," said Governor Sonny Perdue. "The Commission's insight and consultation on matters concerning the Latino community in Georgia will play an important role in my Administration."

The Commission will focus on working with community organizations, local governments, and private businesses. It will also serve in an economic advisory role to attract international business and create jobs while also helping smaller, minority-owned businesses. The consulting function of the Commission will provide valuable insight to policy making in areas such as healthcare, economic opportunity and education.

Charles M. Asensio, 53, Atlanta, GA - Asensio is currently the Vice President of Government Affairs for ADP Tax Credit Services Division. In 1982, he founded Human Resources, Inc. which later merged with SMS Management service, the largest tax incentive consulting firm in the nation. He holds a Masters of Arts from Rowen University in New Jersey and a Bachelor of Arts from Temple University. Some of Asensio's activities include developing commercial real estate and serving as a member of the Board of Directors for Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta. Charles and wife, Lucille, have one daughter.
