Atlanta - The family of former Georgia Governor Lester Maddox issued the following statement today through the Governor's Office regarding his current condition.

"Governor Maddox is resting peacefully. We appreciate the outpouring of concern from the public and the media. We ask for your continued prayers and appreciate the privacy and respect you can give us during this very personal time."
