Statement of Erin O'Brien, Communications Director for Governor Sonny Perdue

Atlanta - Erin O'Brien, Communications Director for Governor Sonny Perdue, issued the following statement regarding today's decision by the Superior Court of Fulton County:

"We regret the Court has ruled in this fashion. A notice of appeal will be filed this afternoon to appeal to the Georgia Supreme Court. The constitutional question of who decides what is in the best interests of the State of Georgia remains in doubt and still needs to be resolved at the highest level."
