Statement Regarding Georgia Sales Tax Free Holiday

Atlanta - The Georgia Sales Tax Free Holiday legislation has not passed the General Assembly and will not occur this weekend, March 29-30, 2003.
The legislation declaring a tax free holiday is currently in the House Ways and Means Committee and has not been voted on yet. The Governor has proposed that the tax free days occur from July 31, 2003 to August 3, 2003. If the legislation is passed by the General Assembly, information regarding the tax free holiday will be disseminated at that time.
