Atlanta - Governor Sonny Perdue announced today that he will conduct his first "Saturdays with Sonny" (SWS) beginning Saturday, January 25, 2003. SWS will provide the citizens of Georgia the opportunity to meet face-to-face with their Governor.

Atlanta will kick-off the series with participants meeting Governor Perdue in his office at the State Capitol from 7 to 9 a.m. Citizens will have five-minutes to share their thoughts, discuss an issue, or ask a question. The series will continue with meetings around the state in the coming months.

"I am honored with the opportunity to meet and talk about the 'kitchen-table issues' facing Georgia families," said Governor Perdue. "I welcome and encourage all Georgians to bring the issues affecting their lives and their families to my attention."

"We have a responsibility to be good stewards of the public trust and these meetings will help my administration in that commitment," added Governor Perdue.

Citizens who wish to meet with Governor Perdue should reserve their time slot in advance by calling the Constituent Services Hotline at (404) 656-1776. Only phone reservations will be accepted for the first SWS, but email reservations will be accepted for the following meetings. Reservations will be accepted until 5:00 p.m. on the Thursday preceding the sessions. SWS will not be open to registered lobbyists or media.

Participants are asked to arrive at the State Capitol no earlier than 6:30 a.m. Guests with appointments should enter via the Washington St. Capitol entrance and proceed to Suite 203.
