Atlanta - Governor-Elect Sonny Perdue today issued the following statement upon U.S. Senator Zell Miller's announcement that he will not seek re-election in 2004.

"As a State Senator, I had the opportunity to work closely with then Governor Miller. He is a true public servant and always kept the good of all Georgians in mind by placing people before politics. I wish him and Shirley the very best in their future endeavors."
