Governors Perdue and Riley Meet for Second Time to Discuss Water Negotiations

ALEXANDER CITY, Ala. – Georgia Governor Sonny Perdue and Alabama Governor Bob Riley met today in Alexander City, Ala. to discuss ongoing negotiations regarding the management of the Alabama-Coosa-Tallapoosa (ACT) river basin.

“Governor Riley and I have now met twice in person, which I believe is indicative of the importance we mutually place on ensuring a sustainable water supply for our citizens,” said Governor Sonny Perdue. “Our shared resolve to address our differences over the allocation of the ACT’s water resources is accomplishing a great deal and I am hopeful that our continuing work will result in a resolution.”
