Governor Perdue Announces Judicial Appointment

ATLANTA – Governor Sonny Perdue announced today the appointment of Ernest D. Blount to the State Court of Henry County. The position was created by the passage of SB584. The swearing-in ceremony is scheduled for Thursday, July 6, 2006 at 3:15 p.m. at the State Capitol.

A brief biography is provided below:

Ernest D. Blount, 58, McDonough, GA – Blount is currently the president of Nubenco, Inc. He also serves as a municipal court judge for the cities of Stockbridge and McDonough. Previously Blount spent more than twenty years in general law practice in the cities of East Point and Stockbridge and another five years as the Henry County attorney. Blount earned an associate of arts degree from Gulf Coast Jr. College as well as his juris doctor and master of laws degrees from the Atlanta School of Law.
