Governor Perdue Announces Solicitor-General Appointment
ATLANTA– Governor Sonny Perdue announced today the appointment of Andrew W. Pope as the solicitor-general for Thomas County. This position was created by the resignation of Joseph T. McGraw. The swearing-in ceremony is scheduled for Thursday, July 6, 2006 at 3:15 p.m. at the State Capitol.
A brief biography is provided below:
Andrew W. Pope, 32, Thomasville, GA – Pope has served as attorney and partner at Pope & Jewell, P.C. since 2003. Prior to this position Pope served as the assistant district attorney for the Southern Judicial Circuit for four years. He earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from Georgia Southwestern State University and a juris doctor from Samford University.
