Governor Perdue Announces New Administration Floor Leaders
ATLANTA – Governor Sonny Perdue announced today the appointment of three Senate Administration Floor Leaders – Senator Joseph Carter (District 13), Senator Ronnie Chance (District 16) and Senator Bill Heath (District 31).
Representatives Rich Golick (District 34), Jay Roberts (District 154) and Vance Smith (District 129) serve as Administration Floor Leaders in the Georgia House of Representatives.
Brief biographies are provided below:
Joseph Carter, Tifton, District 13 – Carter is vice chairman of the Education and Youth Committee and serves on the Economic Development, Judiciary, and Public Safety and Homeland Security Committees. He was elected to the Georgia Senate in 2004. Carter is a graduate Valdosta State University and the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University. He is a partner in the law firm Carter and Richbourg, L.L.P. Carter and his wife, Rebecca, have two sons.
Ronnie Chance, Tyrone, District 16 – Chance is secretary of the Finance Committee and serves on the Veterans and Military Affairs, Reapportionment and Redistricting, Higher Education, and Economic Development Committees. He was elected to the Georgia Senate in 2004. Chance earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Georgia State University. He owns a public relations and marketing firm. Chance is married to the former Cressida Stevens of Gloucestershire, England. They have one daughter.
Bill Heath, Bremen, District 31 – Heath is chair of the Retirement Committee, secretary of the Science and Technology Committee, and a member of the Finance and Transportation Committees. He was elected to the Georgia State Senate in 2004 after having served one term in the Georgia House of Representatives. Heath graduated from Southern Tech. He is self-employed as an engineer and farmer with Design Specialists and B&S Farms. Heath and his wife, Susan, have two children.
