ATLANTA – Governor Sonny Perdue issued the following statement today regarding Site Selection magazine ranking Georgia’s business climate third in the nation:
“Site Selection magazine reinforces what Georgians already know about our state – it is a great place for doing business. Georgia offers new and existing companies the opportunity to grow and prosper thanks to our highly skilled workforce, business-friendly environment, extensive infrastructure and quality of life. We will continue promoting business development that creates jobs for the people of Georgia.”
In its November 2005 issue, Site Selection magazine ranked Georgia’s business climate as the third best in the nation, up from number seven last year and number 12 in 2003.
Georgia's business climate was also ranked number two in a survey of corporate site seekers across the country, which comprises 50 percent of Site Selection's total score. The other 50 percent of the annual business climate rankings is determined by states' performances in the company's new plant database, which tracks new and expanded business facility activity.
