Governor Perdue Appoints Lee Darragh as District Attorney for Northeastern Judicial Circuit

ATLANTA – Today Governor Sonny Perdue announced his appointment of Lee Darragh as district attorney of the Northeastern Judicial Circuit.  Darragh will fill the balance of the unexpired term of the Honorable Jason J. Deal, who was appointed to the Superior Court of the Northeastern Judicial Circuit on May 26, 2005.  A brief biography is provided below:

Lee Darragh, 53, Gainesville, GA – Darragh has served as a superior court felony prosecutor for 25 years, first as an assistant district attorney in the  Eastern Judicial Circuit and then as an assistant district attorney for the Northeastern Judicial Circuit.  Since June 22, 2005, Darragh has served as the Acting District Attorney upon the appointment of Jason Deal to the Superior Court. Darragh is a member of the Kiwanis Club of Gainesville and the Association of Government Attorneys in Capital Litigation. Darragh earned his bachelor's degree in Urban Life (Criminal Justice) from Georgia State University in Atlanta , Georgia , and his law degree from the University of Georgia School of Law. Darragh is an active member of the Lakewood Baptist Church of Gainesville.  He and his wife, Marlyn, have three children.
