Judicial Nominating Commission Recommends Applicants to Fill Georgia Supreme Court Vacancy

ATLANTA – Governor Sonny Perdue's Judicial Nominating Commission (JNC) has submitted recommendations to fill the vacancy on the Georgia Supreme Court. The vacancy was created by the resignation of Justice Norman S. Fletcher. The JNC recommended the following applicants to Governor Perdue:
- Cynthia J. Becker – Judge, Superior Court of DeKalb County
- James B. Franklin – Senior Partner; Franklin, Taulbee, Rushing, Snipes and Marsh, P.C.
- Harold D. Melton – Executive Counsel, Office of the Governor
- Charles B. Mikell – Judge, Court of Appeals of Georgia
- Ralph F. Simpson – Solo practice, Tifton , Georgia
