SANDERSVILLE , GA – Governor Sonny Perdue today signed Senate Bill 107 that adds State Route 15 from US 441 in Watkinsville, Oconee County to US 1 in Toombs County to the Governor's Road Improvement Program (GRIP).  As part of GRIP, State Route 15 will eventually become a four-lane highway.

“Increased transportation access strengthens our hand in attracting new business to all parts of Georgia and helps our existing businesses grow,” said Governor Sonny Perdue.  “Businesses need the ability to move goods, services, or labor in a cost-effective manner and transportation infrastructure is one of the key factors companies look at when considering where to locate or invest.  This means road improvements bring greater opportunities and more jobs for Georgians.”

The GRIP system is 2,478 miles in length.  Upon completion, 75 percent of Georgia 's population will be within two miles of a four-lane road and 98 percent of all areas of the state will be within 20 miles of a four-lane road.
