Statement of Governor Perdue Regarding Senate Passage of the Georgia Virtual High School Legislation

ATLANTA, GA – Governor Sonny Perdue issued the following statement today regarding the State Senate’s unanimous passage of his Georgia Virtual High School Legislation (SB33):
“I appreciate the Senate’s thoughtful consideration and passage of this important legislation, and I commend Senator Moody for his efforts carrying the bill. The Georgia Virtual High School will provide every high school student throughout Georgia the opportunity to learn at their full potential and help prepare them for college. I look forward to its passage in the House.”
The Georgia Virtual High School, an internet-based public high school housed in the Georgia Department of Education, will give students in any region of the state access to Advanced-Placement (AP) courses, summer school courses, advanced science and math courses and other courses.
