Governor Perdue Announces School Construction Bond Package

$417 Million for New Classrooms Across the State

 

            ATLANTA – Governor Sonny Perdue announced today projects included in his $417 million bond package to support the construction of classrooms across Georgia.  This bond package is part of the Governor’s Fiscal Year 2008 (FY08) budget proposal.  The FY08 budget year begins July 1, 2007. 

“Georgia is one of the fastest growing states in the nation,” said Governor Sonny Perdue.  “I’m proposing $417 million for school construction bonds to help local school districts keep our education system moving forward.”

A list of the $417 million in classroom construction bond projects is attached.
