Governor Perdue Announces Houston County District Attorney

ATLANTA  Governor Sonny Perdue announced today that he is appointing T. Rabb Wilkerson, III District Attorney of the Houston County Judicial Circuit. The vacancy was created with the resignation of Mr.  Kelly Burke.

Governor Perdue also announced the appointment of Steven D. Smith to the Municipal Court of Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia and as Chief Magistrate – Magistrate Court of Muscogee.  

Short Bios are provided below:

T. Rabb Wilkerson, 41, Bonaire - Wilkerson practices law for T. Rabb Wilkerson, III, P.C. He has professional experience as a trial attorney, specializing in criminal, domestic, personal injury, and general civil litigation. He served as the Vice President of the Houston County Bar Association in 2007 and was named President in 2008. From 1997-2002, Wilkerson served on the Board of Directors of Rainbow House Children’s Resource Center. He volunteers as an administrative hearing judge in the Houston County Sheriff’s Office, and has held that position since 2008. He received his bachelor’s degree in 1991 from The University of Georgia. Wilkerson received a law degree from Mercer University. He and his wife Angela have one daughter named Ella.

 

Steven D. Smith, 57, Columbus – Smith practices law with Harp and Associates in Comlunbus. Previously he served as Vice President and Director of the Legal Division for AFLAC Incorporated.  Smith attends King's Pasture Community Church in Hamilton. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Auburn University and a law degree from The University of Georgia School of Law. He and his wife Amelia have six children and one grandchild.
