The Regional E 9-1-1 Fund provides grants or costs associated with the start-up of E 9-1-1 emergency services in Georgia’s most economically challenged counties. The Regional E 9-1-1 Fund, created in 2002, was established to create multi-county emergency management centers in rural communities where a single county system was not financially sustainable. When the program was established in 2002, 31 counties were identified without any emergency services.
