“Work Ready equips Georgians with the skills, training and the certification needed to confidently seek employment,” said Governor Perdue. “
The Governor’s Office of Workforce Development will select the most compelling success story each month to be featured on the main page of the Georgia Work Ready Web site. Winners will receive a $100 pre-paid card to assist with job search or education-related expenses to recognize their accomplishments. The first job seeker of the month will be selected in May.
To participate, Work Ready Certificate holders should visit gaworkready.org to submit a brief essay on how earning a Work Ready Certificate has led to improved career options and employment opportunities. By sharing their stories, Work Ready Certified Georgians can help others realize the value of improving their core job skills and equipping themselves for better job opportunities.
To date, more than 100,000 Georgians have earned Work Ready Certificates. Work Ready Certificate holders can also take advantage of skills gap training – personalized, online education sessions designed to help improve skill levels and assessment scores. Job seekers interested in taking the Work Ready Assessment or learning about skills gap training can visit www.gaworkready.org to find assessment and training locations near them. In the last ten months, more than 4,800 Work Ready Certified Georgians have successfully found employment.
