Governor Perdue Announces Judicial Appointments

           ATLANTA – Governor Sonny Perdue today announced three judicial appointments.  Stephen Kelley was appointed to the Superior Court for the Brunswick Judicial Circuit.  W. Kendall Wynne, Jr. was appointed to the Superior Court for the Alcovy Judicial Circuit.  Shawn LaGrua was appointed to the Superior Court for the Atlanta Judicial Circuit.  The judgeships were created by the General Assembly.

 

Brief biographies are provided below:

 

Stephen D. Kelley - Kelley has served as District Attorney for the Brunswick Judicial Circuit since 1997.  He previously served as Assistant District Attorney from 1986-1996.  Kelley is a graduate of the Southern College of Seventh-Day Adventists and the University of Georgia School of Law.  He and his wife, Diana, have three children.

 

Shawn LaGrua - LaGrua has served as the Inspector-General for the Georgia Secretary of State’s Office since January 2007.  Previously she served as the DeKalb Solicitor General from July 2004 - January 2007.  LaGrua also has extensive experience as an Assistant District Attorney in DeKalb and Fulton Counties.  She is a graduate of the University of Georgia and Georgia State University School of Law.  She and her husband, Christopher, have two children.

 

W. Kendall Wynne, Jr. - Wynne has served as District Attorney for the Alcovy Judicial Circuit since 2001.  He was the Chief Assistant District Attorney for the Circuit from 1990-2000.  He previously worked as an Assistant District Attorney for three years and in a private practice for one year.  Wynne is a graduate of the University of Georgia and the University of Georgia School of Law, and also received an L.L.M from the Atlanta Law School.  Wynne and his wife, Pamela, have two children.
