ATLANTA – Governor Sonny Perdue announced today the following executive appointments. Brief biographies are provided below:
State Board of Pharmacy
Levis A. “Al” McConnell, III, 44, Milton – McConnell is a pharmacy district supervisor for CVS/Caremark. He is a three-time recipient of the Area 8 Pharmacy Triple S Award, member of the Georgia Pharmacy Association and a mentor for the Emerging Leader Program. McConnell earned two bachelor’s degrees from the University of Georgia. He and his wife, Melinda, have two children.
State Board of Technical and Adult Education
Frank S. “Chunk” Newman, 50, LaGrange, Third Congressional District Representative – Newman is a project executive with Batson-Cook Company in West Point. He serves on the board of Twin Cedars Youth Services, as a member of the West Georgia Technical College Foundation and the LaGrange Rotary Club, and as a member of the executive committee of the Technical College Foundation Association of Georgia. He is a past president of the West Georgia Technical College board of directors and former chairman of the Boys and Girls Club of West Georgia. Newman earned a bachelor’s degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology. He has three children.
