Colonel Timothy B. Britt to Receive Promotion to Brigadier General

MONROE  Governor Sonny Perdue announced today that Colonel Timothy B. Britt of the Georgia Army National Guard will be promoted to Brigadier General on Saturday, October 3 at the Monroe Armory.

 

Brigadier General Timothy B. Britt, Conyers - Britt currently serves as Director, Joint Staff of the Georgia National Guard. He was commissioned Second Lieutenant, Military Police branch, at North Georgia College in 1983. Prior to his current position as Director, Joint Staff, he was deployed September, 2008 to July, 2009, as the Deputy Commander, Combined Joint Task Force – Phoenix VIII, with the 33rd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, Illinois Army National Guard, to Kabul, Afghanistan. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice, a Masters Degree in Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College, Carlisle Barracks, Pennsylvania. His awards include the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (with one Silver Oak Leaf Cluster & one Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster), Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal (with one Silver Oak Leaf Cluster and one Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster), the Afghanistan Campaign Medal with Campaign Star, the NATO Medal and a Combat Action Badge. Brigadier General Britt lives in Conyers, with his wife, Brigadier General Maria L. Britt. He and his wife have three daughters.
