ATLANTA   – First Lady Mary Perdue announced today that she will host her 7th Annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 4, from 11 a.m. 1 p.m.

The beneficiary for funds raised by attendees of Easter Egg Hunt is the Atlanta Children’s Shelter.   Families attending the hunt are encouraged to bring size 4 and 5 diapers, umbrellas or gift cards for $10 or less to Wal-Mart, Target, Publix or Kroger. These gifts will be provided to the Atlanta Children’s Shelter to help the homeless children under the shelter’s care.

Families who wish to attend should RSVP in advance by calling the Constituent Services Hotline at (404) 656-1776.   Only phone reservations will be accepted.  Reservations will be accepted on a first come, first served basis until capacity is reached.  Due to space limitations, the number of chaperones must be limited to no more than one adult per two children.

This year’s Easter Egg Hunt will also feature a special appearance by Miffy, the iconic white bunny from Dick Bruna's childrens’ book classics, and the star of Georgia Public Broadcasting’s animated series, Miffy and Friends.   Mercis Publishing bv, the brand’s worldwide licensor, will donate a number of Miffy books to the Atlanta Children’s Shelter.

Activities at the 7th Annual Easter Egg Hunt will include the Easter Egg Roll, an Egg Hunt, Egg Decorating and an Easter Basket Cupcake Creation Station. Entertainment will also consist of a Jumpy Fun moonwalk, face painting, balloon animals, story time with Miffy, and the opportunity to take a picture with the Easter Bunny.   Light refreshments will be provided.  Children are asked to bring their own basket to collect souvenirs.

Participants are asked to arrive at the Governor’s Mansion by 10:30 a.m.   Guests with reservations should enter at the main security gate.
