Governor Perdue Appoints District Attorney for Augusta Judicial Circuit

ATLANTA – Governor Sonny Perdue announced today the appointment of Rebecca Ashley Wright as the district attorney for the Augusta Judicial Circuit, comprised of Burke, Columbia and Richmond Counties. The vacancy for this position was created by the appointment of Danny Craig to Superior Court Judge for the Augusta Judicial Circuit.
A brief biography is provided below:
Rebecca Ashley Wright, 40, Augusta, GA – Wright is the Assistant District Attorney for the August Judicial Circuit. She also serves as an adjunct professor at Georgia Military College. Previously, she served as a law clerk at Grover and Childs of Macon, Ga. Wright is a member of the Augusta Bar Association and Augusta Symphony Inc. Wright obtained a bachelor’s degree from Randolph-Macon Women’s College and a law degree from Mercer University.
