Atlanta - Governor Perdue's Chief of Staff John Watson announced today that Patrick Moore will serve as Deputy Chief of Staff. Moore will be responsible for assisting the Chief of Staff with the day-to-day management of the Governor's Office.

"As a member of the Governor's staff, Patrick has demonstrated sound judgment in his decision making and has proven his abilities as a consensus-builder," said Watson. "I believe he will be an able advisor to me as we work to execute the Governor's agenda."

Moore will transition from the Office of Planning and Budget (OPB) where he has served as Special Assistant to the Director of OPB Tim Connell since August. Moore's responsibilities at OPB included budget analysis and liaison to the Governor's Office. He also worked closely with the Military Affairs Coordinating Committee. As a member of Governor Perdue's Transition Office, Moore managed the applicant process for staff positions within the Governor's Office and assisted the Chief of Staff with personnel decisions.

Prior to joining the Perdue Administration, Moore served as Political Director for Chambliss for Senate in 2002. Moore spent three years working for Senator Paul Coverdell in the Washington DC Senate Office where he served as Deputy Legislative Director (2/99-6/00) and Legislative Assistant (11/97-1/99). Moore received his undergraduate degree from Yale University and earned a Masters of Business Administration from the Darden Graduate School of Business Administration at the University of Virginia.
