Governor Perdue Announces Executive Appointments

ATLANTA - Governor Sonny Perdue announced today the following executive appointments.

Georgia Athletic and Entertainment Commission

James Joseph “JJ” Biello, 55, Woodstock, GA, Member, (REAPPOINTMENT) – Biello is a retired detective and police officer for the Atlanta City Police Department. He serves as chairman of the Cherokee County Recreation Authority and on the board of directors of Diaz International Foods. Biello attended Kennesaw State University. He and his wife, Barbara, have two children and two grandchildren.

Philip “Phil” W. Hunnicutt, 65, Whitesburg, GA, Member – Hunnicutt is the owner of Double Eagle Pawn and president of Dependable Bail Bonding. He serves as a member of the Douglasville Masonic Lodge, president of Lake Wampam Homeowners Association and served in the Georgia National Guard. Hunnicutt attended Georgia Technical Institute and LUTC Life Underwriting. He and his wife, Angeline, have seven children and thirteen grandchildren.

State Board of Nursing Home Administrators

Christi W. Card, 44, Ellijay, GA, Nursing Home Representative – Card serves as the corporate compliance officer for United Health Services-Pruitt Corporation. She is a registered nurse, licensed nursing home administrator and certified in healthcare compliance. She serves as co-chairman of the American Health Care Association’s Quality Committee and as an advisory board member for Georgia’s Quality Improvement Organization for Nursing Homes and Home Health. Card attended Brenau College and received a bachelor’s degree from the University of the State of New York. She and her husband, Michael, have two children.

Penelope “Penny” A. Wise, 40, Griffin, GA, Nursing Home Representative, (REAPPOINTMENT) –Wise is a nursing home administrator for Brightmoor Health Care, Inc. She is chairman of the Georgia State Board of Nursing Home Administrators and served as treasurer for the Georgia Nursing Home Association. Wise is a member of the McIntosh Trail Advisory Council and the Spalding County Parks and Recreation Advisory Board. She received an associate’s degree from Gordon Junior College. Wise has two children.

State Board of Hearing Aid Dealers and Dispensers

Donald N. Cote, M.D., 43, Snellville, GA, Otolaryngology (ENT) Representative – Cote is a physician and owner of Ear Nose & Throat Specialists in Conyers. He is former chief of staff of Newton Medical Center. Cote is a member of the Medical Association of Georgia, American Academy of Otolaryngology and the East Metro Medical Society. He received a bachelor’s degree from Auburn University and a medical degree from the University of South Alabama. Cote and his wife, Maryann, have two children.

Charles H. Denmark, 75, Covington, GA, Consumer Member, (REAPPOINTMENT) – Denmark is a retired U.S. Coast Guard executive officer. He was treasurer and secretary of Atlantic Towing Company and national vice president of the Propeller Club of the United States. Denmark served as speaker of the house of the Georgia Silver Haired Legislature and as a member of the Aging Services Advisory Council of the Northeast Georgia Regional Development Center. He is chairman of the trustees of Shiloh United Methodist Church. He attended Georgia Military Academy. Denmark and his wife, Mary Frances, have two children.

Jeffrey “Jeff” H. Fargason, 48, Snellville, GA, Dispenser Representative, (REAPPOINTMENT) – Fargason is a dispenser for Decatur Hearing Aid Service. He is the treasurer of the Georgia Society of Hearing Professionals, Inc. and the Georgia Society Hearing Professionals Foundation, Inc. Fargason received a bachelor’s degree from Georgia State University. He and his wife, Mary, have three children.
