Rosa Clausell Rountree Appointed SRTA Executive Director

ATLANTA – Governor Sonny Perdue announced today the appointment of Rosa Clausell Rountree as executive director of the State Road and Tollway Authority (SRTA).

“Georgia’s transportation agencies are working together like never before to reduce traffic congestion and improve mobility throughout the state,” said Governor Sonny Perdue. “With Rosa Rountree’s leadership, SRTA will continue to play a vital role in the state’s transportation planning and financing decisions.”

SRTA’s mission is to maintain and operate safe and efficient toll facilities, provide innovative transportation finance opportunities and identify user-financed facilities to enhance the mobility of Georgians.

“Governor Perdue has made an excellent choice in appointing Ms. Rountree as executive director of the State Road and Tollway Authority,” said Roger Byrd, SRTA board member. “Her expertise and knowledge of the transportation industry will be of great value to both SRTA and Georgia as we move forward in transportation initiatives.”

Rountree, 46, of Atlanta was appointed acting executive director of SRTA in September 2005 after serving as deputy executive director. Prior to joining SRTA, she served as a senior ITS specialist for PBS&J, a project manager for ACS (previously Lockheed Martin) and an operations manager at the Orlando Orange County Expressway Authority. She has more than 20 years experience in toll operations, management, finance and customer service. Rountree is a member of Women in Transportation, International Bridge, and the Tunnel and Turnpike Association. She is a graduate of the University of West Florida. Rountree and her husband, David, have two sons – David Maurice, currently attending the University of Florida and Prince Ward, a student at Georgia State University.
