Governor Perdue Announces Executive Appointments

ATLANTA - Governor Sonny Perdue announced today the following executive appointments.

Board of Economic Development

Richard “Rick” L. Singletary, Jr., 45, Thomasville, GA, At Large - Singletary is the mayor of Thomasville, president of Cumberland Associates and a managing member for Tallahassee Homes, LLC. He is a member of the board of directors of Archbold Hospital and the chairman of the board of Thomasville National Bank. Singletary earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Duke University. He and his wife, Julia, have two children.

Georgia Aviation Hall of Fame Board

Robert “Bob” E. Harless, 71, Douglas, GA, At Large Representative - Harless has been the general manager of Harless Aviation for almost 30 years. He is a veteran of the United States Army and served with Special Forces in Korea. He has extensive experience as both a transport pilot and flight instructor and serves as a designated pilot examiner and mechanic examiner for the Federal Aviation Administration. Harless is a graduate of the Spartan School of Aeronautics. He survives his wife and has three grown children.

Georgia Council for the Arts

Joy S. Jinks, 72, Colquitt, GA, Second Congressional District Representative (REAPPOINTMENT) - Jinks is the co-founder of Swamp Gravy, a folk life play produced annually by the Colquitt/Miller Arts Council. She serves as chair of the Miller County Family Connection, vice chair of the Community Development Corporation of Southwest Georgia, member of the Downtown Development Authority and member of the board of trustees of Andrew College. Jinks earned a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in social work from Florida State University. She and her husband, G.C., have three grown children.

Professional Standards Commission

M. Pamela Greenway, 55, Warner Robins, GA, Local Board of Education Member - Greenway is the owner of Pamela Greenway, LLC where she serves as a lawyer and mediator. In addition, Greenway serves as a Municipal Court Judge for the City of Warner Robins. She chairs the Houston County Board of Education, serves on the Warner Robins Downtown Development Authority and is a member of the Houston County Bar Association Scholarship Committee and the Rotary Club of Warner Robins. Greenway earned a bachelor’s degree from DePauw University and a law degree from Ohio Northern University. She is married to Glynn Greenway and has two daughters and a stepdaughter.

State Personnel Board

Geraldine “Geri” P. Thomas (Atlanta- DeKalb County) Member (REAPPOINTMENT) - Thomas serves as senior vice president, corporate diversity executive and retail staffing executive for Bank of America. She is a member of the board of advisors for Great Schools Atlanta, the board of directors of the Atlanta Workforce Development Agency and the board of trustees of the Beulah Missionary Baptist Church. Thomas earned a bachelor’s degree in urban studies from Georgia State University. She and her husband, Ronald, have two grown children
