Governor Perdue Announces Executive Appointments

ATLANTA - Governor Sonny Perdue announced today the following executive appointments.

Board of Trustees of the Herty Foundation

Thomas Odell "Tom " Triplett, 70, Rincon, GA —Triplett retired from C&S Bank (Now Bank of America ) as vice president. He served in the Georgia House of Representatives for 18 years and was the chairman of the House Committee on Transportation. Triplett is the former vice chairman of the State Board of Transportation, as well as former mayor and councilman of the City of Port Wentworth . He is also a former member of the Board of Public Education for the city of Savannah and Chatham County .  Triplett now serves on the board of directors of the Citizens Bank of Effingham County and the New Ebenezer Retreat in Rincon , Georgia . He graduated from Bluefield College in Virginia . Triplett and his wife, Judy, have one son.

Southern Growth Policies Board of Trustees

O.B. McCorkle,  36 , Warrenton, GA —McCorkle serves as the president and executive director of the Warren County Chamber of Commerce, the Development Authority of Warren County, and the Warrenton Downtown Development Authority.  She is also the manager of Warrenton's Better Hometown, a non-profit organization.  McCorkle serves on the Georgia Rural Development Council and the board of directors of Sandersville Technical College . McCorkle has served as chairman of the Central Savannah River Area Unified Development Council and director of the Georgia Economic Developers Association. She is a graduate of both Leadership Georgia and Leadership Warren, and currently serves as chapter vice-regent of the Burkhalter Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. McCorkle graduated with a degree in finance from the University of Georgia . McCorkle and her husband, Chris, have two children.   

Nancy Cobb, 51, Dublin, GA —Cobb serves as the executive director of the OneGeorgia Authority.  She previously served as corporate accounting manager for Dublin Construction Company and finance officer and grant administrator for the city of  Millen . Cobb serves as chair of the Office Technologies Advisory Committee for the Heart of Georgia Technical College. She is a member of the Dublin Rotary Club and the Dublin Service League. She is a graduate of the Dublin-Laurens Leadership program.  Cobb earned an associate degree from Middle Georgia College , and graduated with a degree in accounting from Georgia State College and University. She is certified as a public accountant and a governmental finance officer. Cobb and her husband, Robert, have three children.

911 Advisory Council

Roy James Middlebrooks, 57, Conyers, GA , County Government Representative —Middlebrooks serves as chairman of the Rockdale County Board of Commissioners. He previously served as captain for the Rockdale County Sheriff's Department for over thirty years. Middlebrooks is a member of the Atlanta Regional Commission, the Rockdale Kiwanis Club, American Legion Post 77, and the Georgia Peace Officers Association. He also serves on the Rockdale/DeKalb Farm Bureau board of directors, and is a charter member of the Georgia Association of Law Enforcement Firearms Instructors. Middlebrooks attended Clayton Junior College .  Middlebrooks and his wife, Vivian, have one son and one granddaughter. 

State Board of Nursing Home Administrators

Maranah A. Sauter, Ph.D., 48, LaGrange, GA , Registered Nurse Representative— Sauter is a professor of nursing and the chair of the Division of Professional Programs at LaGrange College. She is a member of the Georgia Nurses Association and the American Nurses Association. Sauter is a member of the Education Committee of the Georgia Board of Nursing, and serves as chair of the Americorp/CareLink Advisory Board in LaGrange/Troup County. She serves as an official volunteer nurse for the American Red Cross. She earned a degree in nursing from Georgia Southwestern College , a master's degree in nursing from  Georgia State University , and a doctorate degree in nursing from the Medical College of Georgia.  Sauter and her husband, Steve, have two children.
