Governor Perdue Announces Executive Appointments

ATLANTA, GA - Governor Sonny Perdue announced today the following executive appointments:

Board of Community Affairs

Mark Prescott Williams, 41, Jesup, Georgia, At Large-- Williams is a broker with Harris Real Estate.  He earned his undergraduate degree in biology from Georgia College and State University.  Williams is a member of the Wayne County Chamber of Commerce and serves on the board of the Three Springs Correctional Institute, Prime South Bank, and the Wayne County Hospital Authority.  He and his wife, Pam, have two children.  

 

Georgia Public Telecommunications Commission

Mike McDougald, 73, Rome, Georgia, At Large- McDougald is Vice President and partner of Advertising Dynamics, Inc., an advertising and consulting media firm.  McDougald also recently established Star Link, Inc., an electrical digital signage company.  He was previously owner and Chief Executive of McDougald Communications, a mobile radio-telephone operations business.  McDougald served as Chairman of the 15 th Annual Radio-TV Institute, is a member of the President's Advisory Council at the University of Georgia, and President and board member for the Georgia Association of Broadcasters.  McDougald received his undergraduate degree from Emory University.  He and his wife, Leeta, have 4 children.

 

Board of Commissioners of the Georgia Student Finance Commission

Kay Brown, 59, Statesboro, Georgia, 12 th Congressional District Representative- Brown is the former Executive Director of the First District Regional Educational Service Agency and served as Director of Administrative Services with the Jackson County School System.  She is a longtime member of the Georgia Association of Educational Leaders and the Georgia School Superintendents' Association.  She has served as President of the Georgia Southern University College of Education Advisory Board and President of the Rotary Club of Downtown Statesboro.  Brown earned her undergraduate, master's, doctor of education, and her post-doctoral study in Educational Administration from the University of Georgia.  She and her husband, Charles, have three children. 

 

Georgia Athletic and Entertainment Commission

Cary Ichter, 44, Atlanta, Georgia, At Large- Ichter is a partner with Balch and Bingham, LLP and a member of the Atlanta Bar Association, the Georgia Bar Association, and the Georgia Committee for Ethical Judicial Elections.  He received his undergraduate degree from West Georgia College and a Juris Doctor from the University of Georgia.  Ichter and his wife, Kimberly, have 2 children.

 

Georgia Board of Real Estate Appraisers

Sandra McAlister Winter, 42, Atlanta, Georgia, Real Estate Appraiser Representative - Winter is a Principal at Novogradac & Co., LLP, a public accounting firm.  She has served as Vice President with regional responsibilities for Wells Fargo and Bank of America and was President and founder of the River Oaks Group, LLC.  Winter holds the "MAI" professional designation from the Appraisal Institute and is a member of the Board of Directors for the Atlanta Area Chapter of the Appraisal Institute. Winter received her undergraduate degree from Furman University in Economics and Business Administration. She and her husband, Thorne, have 3 children.

 

State Construction Industry Licensing Board, Division of Conditioned Air Contractors

George Lenaeus, 60, Carrollton, Georgia, Engineer Representative- Lenaeus is a founding member of Merrell and Associates, Inc, and is currently Chief Executive Officer.  He is certified by North American Technician Excellence, Inc. and is a member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Engineers and the American Society of Plumbing Engineers.  Lenaeus is past President of the Carrollton Rotary Club and has been active in the club for twenty years.  He earned his undergraduate degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology.  He and his wife, Susan, have three children. 

Georgia Composite Board of Professional Counselors, Social Workers, and Marriage and Family Therapists

Eric Groh, 42, Stone Mountain, Georgia, Professional Counselor Representative (REAPPOINTMENT)- Groh is a professional Counselor with his own practice in Decatur and is a member of the Licensed Professional Counselors Association of Georgia, the American Mental Health Counselors Association, and the National Board of Certified Counselors.  He received his undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin and his master's degree in Community Counseling from Georgia State University.  Groh and his wife, Sherry, reside in Stone Mountain.
