G8 Host Committee Donates Computers to Local School Districts

ATLANTA, GA - Governor Perdue announced today that the G8 Host Committee will donate computers, printers, and fax machines to twelve counties in South Georgia. Hewlett Packard donated the computers to the Host Committee for use by staffers during the planning and execution of the Summit .

"I am grateful to our private partners who helped make the G8 Summit a success. As a result of their generosity, Georgia was able to put its best foot forward, displaying to the world our southern hospitality," said Governor Sonny Perdue. "In particular, the Host committee helped educate our students about the nature of the summit and is now providing them additional tools which will serve as a reminder of this historical event."

"Our work toward hosting the summit is complete, yet we continue to work as a team to nurture the legacy of the G8 in Georgia ," said Fred Cooper , Chair of the G8 Host Committee. "The donation of this hardware is further proof that Georgia 's private partners are willing to step forward in building a better Georgia ."

Brantley County - 6 fax machines, 6 printers

Bryan County - 4 computers, 6 fax machines, 6 printers

Camden County - 6 fax machines, 6 printers

Charlton County - 4 computers, 6 fax machines, 6 printers

Effingham County - 11 fax machines

Glynn County - 6 computers, 6 fax machines, 6 printers

Liberty County - 4 computers, 6 fax machines, 6 printers

Long County - 6 fax machines, 6 printers

McIntosh County - 4 computers, 6 fax machines, 6 printers

Pierce County - 6 fax machines, 6 printers

Screven County - 4 fax machines

Wayne County - 6 fax machines, 6 printers
