Governor Perdue Announces Appointment to Veterans Service Board

Atlanta - Governor Sonny Perdue announced today the appointment of Fred Fincher to the Veterans Service Board. Fincher, along with Pat Phillips and Jim Blaylock of the Veterans Service Board, will be sworn in TODAY, TUESDAY, APRIL 27, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. in the Governor's Office at the State Capitol.

A brief biography is provided below:

Fred T. Fincher, Sr., 75, LaGrange, GA - Fincher is a retired veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He served in WWII and the Korean conflict, earning the rank of Staff Sergeant. Fincher is a member of the American Legion, having served in the capacity of Post Commander through District Commander and currently Post Adjutant. He is also a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Disabled American Veterans. Fincher is past President of the LaGrange Optimist Club and the LaGrange Shrine Club. He has four children.
