Governor Perdue Reappoints Cobb to Lead OneGeorgia Authority

Announces Additional Appointments to State Boards

Atlanta - Governor Sonny Perdue announced today the reappointment of Nancy Cobb as Executive Director of the OneGeorgia Authority.

"The OneGeorgia Authority is vital to economic development throughout our state," said Governor Sonny Perdue. "With Nancy's continued leadership of this organization, we will be able to create more jobs and opportunity for all Georgians."

Governor Perdue also announced two appointments and one reappointment to the Board of Public Safety - Rooney Bowen (Reappointment) of Vienna, GA, Louis Dekmar of LaGrange, GA, and Cullen Talton of Bonaire, GA.

Wayne Bloodworth of Alpharetta, GA was appointed to the State Composite Board of Medical Examiners, and Julian Duttera of LaGrange, GA, was appointed to the State Medical Education Board of Georgia.

Brief biographies are provided below.

OneGeorgia Authority

Nancy C. Cobb, 50, Dublin, GA - Cobb is currently the Executive Director of the OneGeorgia Authority. Previously, Cobb served as Interim Executive Director and Finance Officer of the same agency. Cobb has also served as Manager of Corporate Accounting at Dublin Construction Company. Cobb is a volunteer in her community and has served on the Heart of Georgia Technical College advisory board as well as the Service League of Dublin. Cobb received her A.S. in Business Administration with Honors from Middle Georgia College and BBA in Accounting, Magna Cum Laude from Georgia College and State University. Cobb and her husband, Robert, have three children.

Board of Public Safety

Rooney Bowen, III, 44, Vienna, GA, Reappointment - Bowen is currently vice president of Rooney Bowen Chevrolet-Olds, Inc. and has served as Coroner of Dooly County since 1986. Bowen is a member of the Georgia Coroner's Training Council. Bowen received his Bachelor of Arts from Valdosta State College and a Bachelor of Science from Gupton Jones College of Mortuary Sciences. Bowen and his wife, Allison, have one son.

Louis M. Dekmar, 48, LaGrange, GA - Dekmar currently serves as Chief of Police for the City of LaGrange. Dekmar formerly served as Chief of Police for the City of Morrow and Captain of Police in Perry, Georgia. Dekmar served in the U.S. Air Force as a law enforcement specialist. He received his Bachelor of Science from the University of Wyoming, graduated from the FBI National Academy in 1985, and received his Master of Public Administration from Georgia College and State University. Dekmar is a member of the FBI National Academy Associates. He and his wife, Carmen, have two children.

Henry Cullen Talton, 70, Bonaire, GA - Talton has served as Houston County Sheriff for 30 years. Formerly he managed the Talton family dairy farm for 20 years. Talton is a member of the Georgia Sheriff's Association, Director of Georgia Sheriff's Youth Homes and Director of Security for the Bank of Houston County. Talton and his wife, Peggy, have four adult children.

State Composite Board of Medical Examiners

Thomas Wayne Bloodworth, 58, Alpharetta, GA - Bloodworth is currently the president and owner of Eagle Grooving, Inc., a transportation construction company. Formerly, Bloodworth was in private practice specializing in Gynecologic Surgery in Las Vegas. Bloodworth is a member of the Conrad Collins Gynecologic Society, a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the Nevada State Medical Society. Bloodworth attended the University of Georgia where he received a B.S. in Pharmacy and received his Doctor of Medicine from Autonomous University of Guadalajara as well as a Master of Business Administration from Mercer University.

State Medical Education Board of Georgia

M. Julian Duttera, Jr. MD. 61, LaGrange, GA - Duttera is Director of Enoh Callaway Cancer Clinic as well as Medical Director of the Department of Oncology, West. Previously, Duttera served as President of Southeastern Institute for Community Health, Inc. He served on this board from 1980 until 2000. Duttera is a member of the Board of Directors, Southeastern Division, American Cancer Society, former president of the Georgia Division of the American Cancer Society and former president of the Troup County Medical Society. Duttera received a B.A. and M.D. from Duke University. Duttera is married and has three children.
