Governor Perdue Announces Executive Appointments

ATLANTA  Governor Sonny Perdue announced today the following executive appointments.  Brief biographies are provided below:

 

Georgia Board for Physician Workforce

E. Daniel “Dan” DeLoach, M.D., 60, Savannah, Non Primary Care Physician – DeLoach is a plastic surgeon with Savannah Plastic Surgery.  He is a member of Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, certified by the American Board of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and is a clinical professor in the Department of Surgery at the Medical College of Georgia.  He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the International College of Surgeons.  DeLoach earned a bachelor’s degree from Valdosta State College and a medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia.  He and his wife, Cameron Elizabeth, have three children. 

 

James G. “Jim” Peak, 59, Bainbridge, Hospital Administrator Representative – Peak is the chief executive officer of Memorial Hospital & Manor in Bainbridge, Georgia. He served as a trustee and chairman of the board for the Georgia Hospital Association and is chair-elect of GHA’s Council for Rural Hospitals. He is a board member of the Georgia Alliance of Community Hospitals, member of the Rotary Club and the Decatur County School Board Foundation and previously served as a member of the Health Strategies Council for the State of Georgia. Peak earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Kentucky and a master’s degree from Georgia Southern University. He and his wife, Bettie, have two sons. 

 

Georgia Public Defender Standards Council

David E. Meadows, 34, Decatur – Meadows is an attorney at King & Spalding LLP and previously practiced at Powell Goldstein LLP. He is a former member of the Board of Directors of Oakhurst Cooperative Preschool. Meadows earned a bachelor’s degree from Lycoming College and a law degree from the Vanderbilt University School of Law. He and his wife, Maureen, have two children.

 

State Medical Education Board

Mark R. Harvey, M.D., 48, Sandersville – Harvey has practiced General Internal Medicine in Sandersville, Georgia since 1991. He has a clinical appointment to Mercer Medical School. Harvey earned a bachelor’s degree from Georgia Southern University and a medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency at the University of Tennessee.  He and his wife, Lisa, have two children.
