ATLANTA – Governor Sonny Perdue today appointed Rep. Matt Ramsey of Peachtree City (District 72) to serve as an Administration Floor Leader in the Georgia House of Representatives.  Ramsey joins the Governor’s floor leaders Rep. Jim Cole of Forsyth (District 125) and Rep. Jimmy Pruett of Eastman (District 144).

“Matt will make an excellent addition to our team in the House,” said Governor Perdue.  “His legal training and knowledge will help us craft proposals and policies, and his experience working with U.S. Rep. Mac Collins gives us additional insight as we work closely with our Congressional delegation.”

While in D.C., Ramsey worked on Former Congressman Mac Collins’ staff for six years, three in D.C. and three in his district office in Newnan. He returned to Georgia where he received his Juris Doctor degree and graduated cum laude from Georgia State University College of Law in 2005. “I am honored to have the opportunity to work with Governor Perdue in support of his common sense agenda aimed at navigating Georgia through these difficult economic times,” said Rep.
